More than a hotel, a state of mind
Tree of Life
A warm welcome awaits you as soon as you enter our front office. You will be called up to light the traditional Sri Lankan oil lamp. It is a local ritual that is a part of welcoming our special guests. Wet towels and a freshly squeezed drink will be the beginning of the pampering. Greenery reigns supreme in the hill capital of Sri Lanka.
And more so at Yahalatenna, where the Tree of Life Nature Resort is located. As you leave the busy city of Kandy and find your way up the mountain,
you will notice the air turning cooler and fresher. The sounds of birds chirping will replace the hustle and bustle of the city.
At Tree of Life Nature Resort, we have the teachings of this remarkable individual to heart. We understand your need to get in touch with your inner self need to feel the splendor of nature. We have thus created a living, breathing space of lush greenery and fabulous colors for you to connect with nature like never before.

Tree of Life
Resting Place
It has been one of the locations that provided rest houses during the Sinhala Kandyan era, where people from different parts of Sri Lanka visited on their way to the hill capital, or during their journey to other parts of the Central province.
Situated in an area of great ancient atmosphere, the area not only is valued for its antiquity but also for the treasures hidden beneath the earth such as silicon, amethyst, and crystal clear spring water, adding indescribable value to the whole picture combined with values of unearthed surprises, surrounding beauty and great history.

Lord Mountbatten loved the countryside, short leaves spent at a tea estate bungalow at Yahalatenna, 6 kilometers north of Kandy. Reminisces of 77 years old Ambrose Nadarajah, who worked at Kings Pavilion from 1944 – 1946. As a young housekeeping assistant, and later became stewards on P & O lines. This bungalow, with its tree-shaded croquet lawn, is now part of the Hotel Tree of Life.”

A great hotel near Kandy
Very friendly helpful staff, specially Rajitha at the reception. Clean quiet rooms. Comfy beds. A reasonably good breakfast buffet. More than anything the calm and tranquil surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A little advice- Though the GPS will take you there ultimately, it can direct you through narrow scary tiny roads.
Quiet nature retreat
A great retreat from the bustle of Kandy and Peradeniya, however, you will need transport as it is some distance from railway stations. Fantastic isolated retreat, ideal for bird watching. Beautiful massages.
